Nightbane is a summonable skeletal dragon in Karazhan, considered by many to be the final encounter of the instance. In order to summon Nightbane, the player much
complete the
[70] Medivh's Journal quest line.
Ground Abilities
- Bellowing Roar: Short duration fear cast every 45-60 seconds. Resistible with Berserker Rage, Fear Ward, Will of the Forsaken, or Death Wish.
- Charred Earth: Chars the ground beneath a random player, dealing up to 3,000 physical damage per second. Can't be dispelled but will disappear
by itself once the player leaves the affected zone. Zones last approx. 30 seconds.
- Cleave: Frontal arc cleave. Hits for approximately 6,000 on plate, 11,000 on cloth.
- Distracting Ash: Reduces chance to hit with melee and spells by 30% for 40 seconds. Can be dispelled.
- Smoldering Breath: Inflicts 3,700 to 4,300 fire damage to enemies in a frontal cone. Deals 1,688 to 1,912 damage every 3 seconds for 15 seconds.
- Tail Sweep: Inflicts 450 fire damage on enemies in a cone behind the boss, knocking them back. Deals 450 fire damage every 3 seconds for 25 seconds.
Air Abilities
- Rain of Bones: Cast on random player. Deals 352-408 physical damage in a 6-yard radius in the area where the player was standing.
- Restless Skeletons: Summons 5 skeletons. Approx. 13,500 health.
- Smoking Blast: Deals 1,850 to 2,150 damage every 1 second to player with the highest healing thread one he goes airborn. Also applies a DoT that
inflicts 3,000 fire damage over 18 seconds. Dot can be dispelled.
- Fireball Barrage: Hurls fireballs at players more than 40 yards away, dealing 3,000-3,500 damage per second. Seems to exist to prevent exploits.
